So as you may or may not know, so far I’ve come up empty on what the current speed record for an R125 is, so I figured if there isn’t one, why not try to set one (with proof – pics or it didn’t happen!).

Even with many things in my favour, it turns out this is quite an expensive undertaking. It’s a long way to pretty much anywhere from Devon so fuel and entry fees are enough of a problem to be a problem, especially when trying to ensure a working bike too.

Whilst this concept had been bandied about in the past, this post is to celebrate the first actual money received to go racing/doing loony stuff on bikes, and that’s from my friend over at NewJerseyIsALifestyle.com.

The closest I’ve ever got to New Jersey was the Sopranos, but I have a friend who lives there and NJ is like it’s own little ecosystem. It’s A Thing apparently, and her Lifestyle Directory is the guide to That Thing.

Either way, I do some coding and web stuff for her and she was looking for ways to promote her business, and I (half jokingly) said how about sponsoring my top speed thing and then here we are. Since that is apparently how one rolls in NJ ;-).

Either way, I’m obviously *delighted* to get any help as far as anything racing goes, so I’m very grateful to Shay and NJIAL, and am happy to be sporting her logo and supporting her business in some small way.

It turns out there’s quite a pretty bike under all the mud…
