ok soooo..

I’m not sure why exactly I’m motivated to do this but I really want to learn how to wheelie and drift my bike. I’ve always been into drifting cars but somehow had never considered drifting bikes, probably because it’s kinda insane and dangerous as activities go.

I’ve got a rough long-term goal in mind with this, and I know it’s going to be a long journey to get anywhere even close to being any good at trick/stunt riding, but I’m ok with that. Putting in work over sustained periods I am 100% down with.

So this is me documenting my journey to that goal…from zero pretty much. I realise not everyone will want to see videos of old ppl sucking at doing wheelies so I won’t be offended if you skip these vids 😉

There will still be R125 tuning and scooter building videos as normal, this is just happening as well… At the point of filming this I’ve only had a couple of little practice sessions to start to figure out if and how I can get the front wheel up (at all!), which resulted in making some changes to the controls to improve things (adjustable reach levers, improved clutch cable action).

This was my first time out with the revised controls etc and *should* mean I can now actually get the front wheel up (at all). I know a 125 isn’t really an ideal bike to be doing this on, which is fine, but I’ve also seen videos of people wheelying & drifting R125s and other similar entry-level bikes, so I know it’s possible if you have the skills, so imma stick with it till I can do it.

I don’t have high expectations here. I’m not particularly gifted in terms of coordination, balance etc so I’m expecting this to be pretty difficult, expensive and potentially painful to learn. I’m (ideally) just aiming for a little bit of tangible progress each session which, over time, should add up to something….hopefully 😉
